Kirkland...Or Kirtland?

Speaking of buying in bulk - I'm sure you've already heard tons of times that the Kirtland Temple (I originally typed Kirkland and then thought..."Is it Kirkland or Kirtland?! Gah! Not Kirkland Ruth...you're always thinking of Costco.") was just bought by the Church. "Buy in bulk and save!" I always say. I received excited texts from active members thrilled with the acquisition.

Let's be clear on what we got with our tithing money: (link)

1. A $192,500,000 million dollar VISITORS center of the Kirtland temple.

2. Some historical documents and stuff. (Whoopsies - some of them include 64 changes to the Bible that are not in our Latter-day Saint cannon. Among these are corrections to the story of the polygamist King David condemning some of his actions.)

What can we learn from this investment:

Oh my heart.

Here's what I responded to one of the excited texts (to which they responded that I seemed critical...):

Moroni 8:

32 Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be churches built up that shall say: Come unto me, and for your money you shall be forgiven of your sins.

33 O ye wicked and perverse and stiffnecked people, why have ye built up churches unto yourselves to get gain? Why have ye transfigured the holy word of God, that ye might bring damnation upon your souls? Behold, look ye unto the revelations of God; for behold, the time cometh at that day when all these things must be fulfilled.

34 Behold, the Lord hath shown unto me great and marvelous things concerning that which must shortly come, at that day when these things shall come forth among you.

35 Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing.

36 And I know that ye do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, unto the wearing of very fine apparel, unto envying, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and all manner of iniquities; and your churches, yea, even every one, have become polluted because of the pride of your hearts.

37 For behold, ye do love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.

38 O ye pollutions, ye hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have ye polluted the holy church of God? Why are ye ashamed to take upon you the name of Christ? Why do ye not think that greater is the value of an endless happiness than that misery which never dies—because of the praise of the world?

39 Why do ye adorn yourselves with that which hath no life, and yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not?

40 Yea, why do ye build up your secret abominations to get gain, and cause that widows should mourn before the Lord, and also orphans to mourn before the Lord, and also the blood of their fathers and their husbands to cry unto the Lord from the ground, for vengeance upon your heads?

41 Behold, the sword of vengeance hangeth over you; and the time soon cometh that he avengeth the blood of the saints upon you, for he will not suffer their cries any longer.

2 Nephi 28:

11 Yea, they have all gone out of the way; they have become corrupted.

12 Because of pride, and because of false teachers, and false doctrine, their churches have become corrupted, and their churches are lifted up; because of pride they are puffed up.

13 They rob the poor because of their fine sanctuaries; they rob the poor because of their fine clothing; and they persecute the meek and the poor in heart, because in their pride they are puffed up.

14 They wear stiff necks and high heads; yea, and because of pride, and wickedness, and abominations, and whoredoms, they have all gone astray save it be a few, who are the humble followers of Christ; nevertheless, they are led, that in many instances they do err because they are taught by the precepts of men.

1 Nephi 22:

23 For the time speedily shall come that all churches which are built up to get gain, and all those who are built up to get power over the flesh, and those who are built up to become popular in the eyes of the world, and those who seek the lusts of the flesh and the things of the world, and to do all manner of iniquity; yea, in fine, all those who belong to the kingdom of the devil are they who need fear, and tremble, and quake; they are those who must be brought low in the dust; they are those who must be consumed as stubble; and this is according to the words of the prophet.

4 Nephi 1:

40 And it came to pass that two hundred and forty and four years had passed away, and thus were the affairs of the people. And the more wicked part of the people did wax strong, and became exceedingly more numerous than were the people of God.

41 And they did still continue to build up churches unto themselves, and adorn them with all manner of precious things. And thus did two hundred and fifty years pass away, and also two hundred and sixty years.

My husband pointed out that the Kirtland temple is a satanic building. That stunned me. But then he pointed out the satanic victory on the edifice:

As President Nelson has said, "To remove the Lord’s name from the Lord’s Church is a major victory for Satan." (link) Too bad Joseph mustn've known what President Nelson would know nearly two centuries later.

And while we're at it. The Provo temple is being torn down. Why? Because she was deemed ugly and in need of "a makeover" (link).

If you haven't seen this music video, perhaps it will shed light on how a church worth over $150 billion dollars rolls: (link)

Silver lining in all of this gross display of wealth and neglect?

Book of Mormon prophecy fulfilled...yet again.

Around 2020, 2021, those scriptures hit me hard. But of coarse they only apply to all but one right? Well let’s examine the source and application.
I have played these verses out in my mind so many times, but as if I was talking to them, it’s hard to not see what it’s warning us of.

    A conversation with Moroni.

M- “Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing.”

    RJ- The Lord Himself, personally?

M- Yes, the pure source of truth and light? The Alpha and Omega.

RJ- There has got to be an exemption.

M- “And I know that ye do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, unto the wearing of very fine apparel, unto envying, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and all manner of iniquities;”

RJ- hold on, “None”? Wait your just talking about individuals and not institutions correct?

M- “and your churches, yea, even every one, have become polluted because of the pride of your hearts.”

RJ- So it’s, “even every one”, zero exclusions?

M- “Save a few only” (individuals), and individuals/persons because the Lord made clear, “and your churches, yea, even every one have become polluted”.

R- How is that possible, wasn’t truth restored without an interruption since Joseph?

M- “ye polluted the holy church of God and are ashamed to take upon you the name of Christ. Ye do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, ye do love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.

RJ- Oh man, but don’t we need another witness as the scriptures teach us to confirm this?

M- Here is my friend Nephi.

    R- What say you Nephi?

N- “Yea, they have all gone out of the way; they have become corrupted.”
Conversation continued and Nephi, who also saw our day said the very same thing.

The BofM is written for our time and is talking to us, or it’s not.

I knew they purchased the Kirkland temple but in my mind it was in the 10 of millions. Still that is hard to understand, but 195 million!, loss of words.
The amount of people that could have helped, created continual jobs, housing etc… “Dead works” comes to mind, “let the dead bury the dead”, and man oh man the scriptures above. It’s hard to see any good that would come from that besides oohing, awing, and trips, a “priceless” piece of history. It’s amazing the edifice worship that occurs today, the “adorning of our churches.”

The scriptures teach us to, “prove all things.”

Nephi always sought for his own answers from the Lord, in all things he was taught.

Didn’t the priests in Malachi get chastised for misusing the people’s tithes and offerings?
